Security cluster meets at Union Buildings as anti-immigration protests escalate nationwide

Government ministers convened an emergency security cluster meeting at the Union Buildings in Pretoria to respond to escalating anti-illegal immigration protests across South Africa. Deputy ministers were deployed to affected areas and a follow-up meeting was scheduled for June.
